Wildtype Tasting Bar

Wildtype is revolutionizing the food system with sushi-grade Pacific Northwest salmon—no fishing or farming required. They hired us to design a tasting bar experience for their flagship space, highlighting their innovative cellular agriculture process.

Our scope includes spatial and lighting design, EGD, multiple murals, and an immersive adaptive light bar experience. Collaborating with the architect, we’re managing everything from concept to installation. Materials like upcycled ocean plastics were used for pendant lights and bar shelving, while murals celebrate Wildtype’s history and vision.

  • Our team worked with Wildtype to create a space that functioned as an omakase tasing bar to showcase their product.

  • The old space was a brewery with 80ft ceilings. We designed an interactive soffit, creating an intimate space that made you feel like you were transported to a small Japanese omakase bar.

  • To highlight their whimsical brand we created two large-scale murals. Each was created using their original brand identity sketches and designs with an ERL twist.

Fragmented Wave

Over the tasting bar, our concept brings an intimate underwater experience. The wave structure focuses on simplicity, sensitivity to the natural environment, and the use of natural materials found in traditional Japanese architecture. Within the structure DMX controlled lighting scenes adapt to the environment creating unique moods or scenes mimicking how the space is being used.

Material Story

We designed the adaptable shelving system using recycled ocean plastics. Pendant lights were also 3D printed using up-cycled ocean plastics, further telling the sustainable story of the Wildtype brand.
