At ERL, curiosity and research drive every project, followed by playful experimentation that leads to memorable results. We collaborate with clients of all sizes—emerging brands, corporations, civic institutions, and arts organizations—focusing on projects that blend disciplines and mediums. Beyond design, we handle programming, fabrication, and installation, creating interactive experiences that invite audiences to engage with art in new ways.
Our Process
-
Following our kick-off meeting to define scope, budget, timeline, and creative guidelines, we deliver an initial strategy plan to ensure project goals are aligned from the start. This is where the Lab mindset thrives—combining curiosity, rigorous research, and collaboration to develop concepts that not only bring your ideas to life but also address details you may not have considered.
-
We develop our conceptual ideas into thoroughly detailed designs for each project using sketches, renderings, models, and mockups. With our suite of traditional and digital tools, the team has the expertise and experience to bring our crazy ideas to life. The Lab uses the development phase to continue our experimental design process by testing and perfecting techniques and material selections.
-
The Lab team fabricates and installs our work whenever possible. When required, partnerships with a specialist or local fabrication teams help us deliver projects to clients and spaces worldwide. No matter the project or fabrication method, our team is always directly involved in creating and installing artworks.
Our design studio and fabrication shop are here to support your project, no matter the scale. Below are some common questions we receive during the design process.
